How Often Should You Really Clean Your Home? A Practical Schedule

Daily, weekly, monthly, seasonally: here's a realistic cleaning schedule for busy North Atlanta households, and where professional help fits in.

A clean home isn't about marathon weekend scrubbing sessions. It's about doing the right tasks at the right frequency. Here's the schedule we recommend for most households.

Daily (10 minutes)

  • Wipe kitchen counters and stovetop
  • Load or run the dishwasher
  • Quick tidy of main living spaces
  • Squeegee the shower glass

Weekly

  • Clean and sanitize bathrooms
  • Vacuum and mop floors
  • Dust reachable surfaces
  • Change bed linens
  • Empty all trash cans

Monthly

  • Wipe baseboards and door frames
  • Dust ceiling fans and vents
  • Clean inside the microwave
  • Wipe cabinet fronts and handles

Seasonally

  • Deep clean grout, tile and shower glass
  • Clean inside the oven and refrigerator
  • Wash windows, sills and tracks
  • Flip and vacuum mattresses
  • Post-pollen whole-home reset in late spring
The goal isn't a perfect home. It's a home that feels calm and cared for, without stealing your evenings and weekends.

Where a cleaning service fits

Most of our clients keep the daily ten minutes and hand off the weekly and monthly work with bi-weekly visits, plus a seasonal deep clean. It's the sweet spot between cost and a consistently spotless home.
