They sound similar, but a regular clean and a deep clean are built for very different jobs. Here's how to choose, and why most homes need both.
One of the most common questions we hear is: what's actually the difference between a regular cleaning and a deep cleaning? The short version is that regular cleaning maintains, and deep cleaning restores.
What a regular clean covers
Regular cleaning is the recurring routine that keeps a home consistently clean: kitchens and bathrooms cleaned and sanitized, surfaces dusted, floors vacuumed and mopped, trash emptied and everything reset. It's designed to be efficient and repeatable, every week, two weeks or month.
What a deep clean adds
A deep clean includes everything in a regular clean, plus the slow-building grime that routine visits aren't designed to tackle:
- Baseboards, doors and door frames wiped by hand
- Tile grout and shower glass scrubbed
- Ceiling fans, light fixtures and vents dusted
- Cabinet fronts and appliance exteriors detailed
- Soap scum and hard-water build-up removed
Which one do you need?
Choose a deep clean if…
- It's been more than a month or two since your last professional clean
- You're starting a new recurring cleaning service
- You're preparing for guests, a holiday or listing your home
- It's spring and pollen season just ended
Choose a regular clean if…
- Your home has had a recent deep clean
- You want to keep things consistently guest-ready
- You'd rather spend weekends on anything but chores
